CITY OF ELK RIVER POSITION ANALYSIS <br /> <br />Position Title -- Economic Development Coordinator <br /> <br />Department-- Administration <br /> <br />Position Title of Immediate Supervisor -- City Administrator <br /> <br />FLSA Status -- Ix] Exempt [ ] Non-Exempt <br /> <br />Adopted Date: <br />Revised Date: <br /> <br />Purpose Statement: The Economic Development Coordinator supervises and <br />coordinates economic development planning activities for the City including, but not <br />limited to, marketing, analysis of financial assistance resources, and acting as a resource to <br />commerce and industry developers. <br /> <br />ESSENTIAL DUTIES PERFORMED <br /> <br />Duties/Responsibilities <br /> <br />Perform economic development activities. <br />A. Assist in preparation, updating, and implementation of various economic <br /> development plans. <br />B. Attract new development to and assist in retention and expansion of <br /> current Industrial, Commercial and Downtown areas. <br />C. Assist in development of annual prioritized work plan for approval by the <br /> City Council and Economic Development Authority (EDA). <br />D. Carry out initiatives and priorities as directed by the City Council, Housing <br /> and Redevelopment Authority (H) and EDA and as outlined in the <br /> annual work plan. <br />E. Explain the requirements of the development code and facilitate the <br /> development review process. <br /> <br />Promote and maintain community/business contact. <br />A. Assist and advise businesses locating or expanding in the City. <br />B. Participate in and act as the City's representative in community related <br /> actMties and organizations to promote the City. Represent the interests of <br /> the City's economic development department with other city officials, <br /> government agencies, community organizations, developers, and the <br /> general public in a manner that will encourage strong development <br /> programs which represent the best interests of the City. <br /> <br /> <br />
