Item # 9.2. <br />.ver <br />MEMORANDUM <br />TO: City Council <br />FROM: Jeff Gongoll, Community Development Director <br />DATE: July 7, 2008 <br />SUBJECT: Flag Lot Discussion <br />At the February 19, 2008 City Council meeting, an administrative subdivision proposal was <br />approved with a "flag lot" design. Members of the Council had voiced concern with this <br />practice. <br />At the March 10, May 19, and June 16 meetings the Council reviewed and discussed <br />information regarding flag lots, including review of an ordinance prohibiting these lots. <br />Council asked staff to define "access" and "access strip". The attached ordinance has <br />revised and clarified that definition. <br />Council is asked to review the proposed ordinance. A formal amendment would be <br />presented for approval at the July 21 Council meeting. <br />Attachment <br />^ Draft Ordinance <br />
