The third item was to survey residents to gather their opinions on priorities of the City and
how they feel about the services the City is providing. The City's new website software
allows for an online survey to be conducted via the City's website. Staff is in the process of
putting together sample questions as a starting point for Council input, review, and approval.
Once a decision has been made on the questions, the online survey can be launched. In
addition, we will need to make the survey available through other means to residents who do
not have access to the City's website.
The last item is an update the Council requested on the Park Master Plan. Attached is a
memo from Parks and Recreation Director Bill Maertz with a summary of the status of
implementation of the Park Master Plan. A joint meeting with the Park and Recreation
Commission can be scheduled in the future at the Council's request.
Finally, most of the items noted above require Council involvement as we move forward
with them. You will either see them working their way through the Council meeting
schedule, or they will be placed on the agenda for the next planning workshop. No action is
requested on this item for this meeting; it is merely an update to make the Council aware of
the progress that has taken place to date.
S:\Council\Lori\2008\Planning Workshop Status.doc
