The quotation is for all new equipment. I chose to quote new equipment because the cost of moving your existing equipment was within a few thousand dollars of installing new state of the art radios and remotes that offer much more flexibility and capacity. Several additional factors were taken into consideration. 1. The new equipment will comply with updated FCC rules for utilizing narrowband or wideband frequencies which better utilize radio spectrum. 2. Your existing radio remotes limit operation to two 2 frequencies (channels). Your existing police and fire department offices therefore have no ability to communicate or monitor on several channels currently used in your emergency vehicles. Public Safety office staff and administrators may have limited knowledge of current events in the field without additional channels. 3. New equipment proposed will allow staff to monitor and communicate not only with your PublidSafety vehicles, but also will allow communications with other Public Safety entities and support personnel during an emergency. 4. In the event of an emergency situation, the proposed equipment can be utilized as a "Command Post" in order to coordinate activities between various entities and support staff. 5. The proposed equipment is flexible and allows for easy expansion when additional capacity may be required. 6. Much of the proposed equipment is warranted for a minimum of two years. Like most new electronic products, repair or replacement costs are lower thus saving money on existing maintenance contracts.
