Planning Commission Discussion
The Plannirtg Commission held a public hearing on May 13, 2008. Some Commissioners had concerns
with the `industrial' character of the building, and felt that the long expanses of wall, particularly the wall
facing the adjacent residential homes, should include some breaks ox other features. It was noted that in
the Business Paxk zoning district, a building may not contain 160 feet of uninterrupted facade. This helps
break up large buildings by adding shadow lines, etc. At the meeting, staff noted that there axe no specific
design guidelines fox this district, but the Commission could add conditions to address a specific concern
as part of its Conditional lise Pexxnit review authority. No additional conditions were included in their
recommendation fox approval.
Public Comment
No comments were received for ox against the proposal.
Attachments
• Staff report to Planning Commission dated May 13, 2008
• Staff comment letter dated April 14, 2008
• Fixe Department letter dated ApxIl 9, 2008
• Floor plan, elevation, and landscaping plan dated May 2, 2008
Action Motion by Second by Vole
Follow Up
S:APLANNING MAIN\Case FilesVCUYVCU 08-09 Alliance Church\StuFE Report m CC 5-]9-OS.doc
