Elk River City Council Meeting <br />February 26, 1996 <br /> <br />Page 2 <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER FARBER MOVED TO APPROVE THE UPDATED JOB DESCRIPTION <br />FOR THE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COORDINATOR. COUNCILMEMBER DIETZ <br />SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 4-0. <br /> <br />4.5 <br /> <br />Accept Police Officer Resiqnation and Discuss Timeframe for Hidnq New Officers <br /> <br />City Administrator Pat Klaers updated the Council on the eligibility roster and the <br />possibility of hiring two police officers when a recommendation comes forward at <br />approximately the end of March. <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER FARBER MOVED TO ACCEPT THE RESIGNATION FROM POLICE <br />OFFICER RICHARD WEISS. COUNCILMEMBER SCHEEL SECONDED THE MOTION. THE <br />MOTION CARRIED 4-0. <br /> <br />4.6 <br /> <br />Consider Applicant for Vacant Wastewater Treatment System Position <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER FARBER MOVED TO APPROVE HIRING OF PATRICK HENDRICKSON <br />FOR THE MECHANICAL TECHNICIAN POSITION CONTINGENT UPON A NEGATIVE PRE- <br />EMPLOYMENT DRUG TEST AND INFORMATION FROM PREVIOUS EMPLOYERS <br />INDICATING IF THERE WERE ANY POSITIVE DRUG TESTS OR REFUSALS TO BE TESTED <br />WITHIN THE PRECEDING TWO YEARS. STARTING PAY IS STEP G OF PAY GRADE 14 <br />AND ALSO APPROVAL OF THE JOB DESCRIPTION AND ASSOCIATED POINT RANKING. <br />COUNCILMEMBER DIETZ SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 4-0. <br /> <br />4.7 <br /> <br />Presentation by County Enqineer Dave Schwartincl - County Road 1 <br /> <br />County Engineer Dave Schwarting presented the Council with material regarding <br />concerns about the intersection of Trunk Highway 10 and Proctor Road. Dave <br />Schwarting expressed his concerns regarding the intersection and would like to <br />build Proctor Road (County Road 1) for a 4 lane but stripe it for a 3 lane to solve <br />the intersection problem in the short term. Dave Schwarting also presented the <br />Council with material concerning the intersection of County Road #1 and School <br />Street. <br /> <br />Councilmember Farber stated he does not think the intersections should affect <br />the project for County Road 1. <br /> <br />Councilmember Scheel expressed her concerns at Quincy Street and County <br />Road 33. <br /> <br />Dave Schwarting will work with Terry Maurer and Council discussion on this matter <br />will continue at a later meeting. <br /> <br />Open Mike <br /> <br />No one appeared for this item. <br /> <br /> <br />
