There being no one to speak to this issue, Mayor <br />Klinzing closed the public hearing. <br /> <br />MOVED BY COUNCILMEMBER FARBER AND SECONDED BY <br />COUNCILMEMBER ZERWAS TO ADOPT ORDINANCE 07-20 AMENDING <br />SECTION 30-866 “DISTRICT REGULATIONS” OF THE CITY CODE OF <br />ORDINANCES, CASE NO. OA 07-09. MOTION CARRIED 5-0. <br /> <br />Councilmember Motin requested to review the policy regarding the events that would be <br />acceptable for signage on city property. He had concerns with the YMCA, Chamber, CAER, <br />and Independence Day events due to the nature of the variety of signs that could fall under <br />these categories and that some of these weren’t events but rather organizations. <br /> <br />6.5. Request by City of Elk River for Ordinance Amendment to Section 30-1583 Relating to <br />Commercial Reserve Transitional Zoning, Case No. OA 07-13, Public Hearing <br /> <br /> Mr. Barnhart presented the staff report. <br /> <br />Mayor Klinzing opened the public hearing. There being no one to speak to this issue, Mayor <br />Klinzing closed the public hearing. <br /> <br />MOVED BY COUNCILMEMBER FARBER AND SECONDED BY <br />COUNCILMEMBER MOTIN TO ADOPT ORDINANCE 07-21 AMENDING <br />SECTIONS 30-1583 OF THE ELK RIVER CITY CODE RELATING TO THE <br />INTERIM USES, MINIMUM LOT REQUIREMENTS, AND ACCESSORY <br />STRUCTURE SETBACKS IN THE CRT-COMMERCIAL RESERVE <br />TRANSITIONAL ZONING DISTRICT. MOTION CARRIED 5-0. <br /> <br />7.1. Consider Tobacco License Renewal for Steve’s Smoke Shop, Inc.-Sabry Wazwaz <br /> <br />Mr. Beck stated that staff has concerns whether the owner of Steve’s Smoke Shop, Inc. <br />qualifies for a tobacco license in the City of Elk River, as outlined in the staff report. He <br />stated staff sent a letter to Mr. Wazwaz advising that the city is going to revoke his license <br />He further noted that Mr. Wazwaz and his attorney requested a hearing stating that the <br />owner still meets the qualifications to hold a license in Elk River.
