Much of this land will be preserved in its
natural state, with approximately 50 acres to remain in crop production. Most of the open space
will be accessible through private mowed, or wood chip trails. Trail locations have been
proposed in areas where existing trails and mobility are suitable. Signs, and a rest shelter will
also be installed for these private trails.

Deed Restriction/Conservation Easement

The open space areas will be placed under a deed restriction, or conservation easement as agreed
by the City of Elk River. 27 acres of open space would eventually be park.

The Ridges of Rice Lake
Open Space Development Summary
