City Council & HRA Minutes <br />April 7, 2008 <br />Page 2 <br />The Mayor suggested the HRA explore some of the following partnership opportunities: • <br />• Greater Minnesota Housing Association <br />• Central MN Housing Partnership <br />• Greater Minnesota Housing Fund-has program for education HRA's. <br />• MetroPlains <br />• Fringe community funding programs <br />• Green Communities funding options that could tie into Energy City <br />• MN Housing <br />She stated buy-in is needed from the community and some of the organizations listed above <br />have the experience of building consensus in communities for affordable housing projects. <br />The Council suggested the following projects be considered: <br />Townhouse project area along Jackson Avenue near the Boys & Girls Club and Lions <br />Pazk. She stated this has been a difficult spot for development to occur due to the <br />amount of soil correction needed. <br />Houses along Jackson Avenue. <br />Tazget has stated they would be leaving the dty in fall 2008 and concern was expressed <br />with the uncertainty of the building. <br />The HRA stated they could create a list of projects they want to see accomplished and then <br />work with the Council on plugging some of the projects in with available funding. The HRA • <br />stated they would utilize partnership opportunities to gather more information and keep the <br />Council posted. <br />4.
