RESOLUTION APPROVING THE NORTHSTAR COMMUTER RAIL ADVANCE CORRIDOR PLAN WHEREAS, WHEREAS, fha St. Ctoud Area Planning Organization (APO) is a Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) under Federal law and in that capacity has approved a Transportat;on Plan for the St. Cloud Metropolitan Area, and the APO has been a member of the Nodhstar Corridor Development Authority (NCDA) Project Management Team working in cooperation with the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) to initiate a commuter rail facility between St. Cloud and Minneapolis, and WHEREAS, Minnesota Statutes, chapter 174.86, subdivision 4, requires the Commission of MnDOT to ~ubmit tl~o Advanced Corridor Plan (ACP) as defined in Minnesota Statutes Section 174.80, subdivision 2, for commuter rsil facilities to each MPO in which a commuter rail route is to bo located, and WHEREAS, WHEREAS, WHEREAS, the APO is required to hold a hearing on the ACP allowing the Commissioner, local governmental units, and other persons to present their views as to whel, hcr tl~c ACP is consistent with the MPQ's development guide, and a public hearing was held on January 25, 2001, on the ACP deslgnod to operate a commuter rail transit service between the St. Cloud area and Minneapolis, and the APO has received comments from the public hearlng and has reviewed the ACP for consistency wi[l~ the APO Trat~sportation Plan, NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the APO finds the ACP to be consistent with iht St. Cloud Metropolitan Area Transportation Plan. and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the St. Cloud Area Planning Organization hereby approves the Advanced Corridor Plan for the commuter rail facility between the St. Cloud area and Minnespolis, D~g~t SCnarp, Chair~a Date
