City Council Minutes Page 5 <br />February 12, 2001 <br /> <br /> project was not initiated by the City or the County. Those citizens present <br /> indicated their concerns regarding the frontage road (from CR 21) that is <br /> proposed to run through the neighborhood, The citizens stated their opposition to <br /> the location of this frontage road. The citizens also indicated their displeasure of <br /> not being informed of the status of the project and stated that they wanted to be <br /> kept apprised of all meetings concerning this project. <br /> <br />Mayor Klinzing suggested sending a letter to MnDOT from both the County <br />Commissioners and the City Council regarding the concern of the Country Road <br />21 frontage road alignment. It was also noted that economics of this frontage <br />road project should be included in the letter. It was the consensus of the County <br />Commissioners and City Council that a letter be drafted and sent to MnDOT. <br /> <br />Mayor Klinzing recessed the meeting at 8:35 pm and reconvened at 8:40 pm. <br /> <br />County Expansion and Purchase of Wilson Property <br /> <br />Discussion was held regarding the County's plan to expand to the south of its <br />existing property. Brian Benson noted that the Planning Commission voted against <br />the rezoning of the property but was in favor of the County purchasing the <br />property to expand its offices. The County Administrator noted that it was not the <br />intention of the County to use this space to expand the jail. <br /> <br />The following issues were discussed by the Council and County Board of <br />Commissioners: <br /> <br />· Northstar Corridor <br />· Legislative Issues <br />· County Road 12 <br />· Business Center Drive Extension <br />· Landfill Activities <br />· Waste Hauler Contracts <br />· Energy City Activities <br />· County Ditches in Elk River <br />· Gravel Audit <br /> <br />8.
