City Council <br />March 18, 2002 <br />Page 2 <br /> <br />The number of clients expected to be using the salon at any one time will be three: one at <br />the workstation, another client using the tanning bed and one client waiting for an <br />appointment. <br /> <br />The hours of operation will be Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 5:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. <br />and Monday and Friday 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. <br /> <br />Access to the salon will be off of Lander Street at the existing driveway. There is adequate <br />parking in the existing 20-foot wide by 100-foot long drive way. <br /> <br />Planning Commission Action <br /> <br />Commissioner Franz asked City Engineer Terry Maurer if the chemical used in hair <br />processing would impact the private septic system. Mr. Maurer stated that the strength and <br />volume of the waste for this use is limited and should not be a problem. The Planning <br />Commission voted unanimously to approve the conditional use for a Home Occupation. <br /> <br />Recommendation <br /> <br />Staff and the Planning Commission recommend that the City Council approve the request <br />for a conditional use for a Home Occupation (Beauty Salon) with the following conditions: <br /> <br />1. THE SALON SHALL COMPLY WITH THE BUILDING CODE <br /> REQUIREMENTS. <br />2. THE APPLICANT SHALL MEET ALL STATE LICENSING <br /> REQUIREMENTS. <br />3.
