2-2-2-2-2

The steps in the process were to develop an overall vision for the corridor with
help from the two advisory committees. A range of alternatives were identified and
evaluated against the measures of effectiveness to determine a number of project
concepts that could address the deficiencies in the Highway 1 0 Corridor. Measures of
effectiveness lbr the Highway 10 Corridor include mobility and traffic operations, safety,
access/supporting roadway system, and alternative modes of transportation. Input from
the Advisory Committees helped to refine the number of project concepts that were
included in a concept-level cost estimate. A benefit/cost analysis was completed for the
remaining project concepts that were then prioritized into short-, medium-, and long-term
projects.

Interim projects were also identified that could be implemented in partnership
with the cities and counties along the corridor prior to, or concurrent with, the
implementation of the long-range projects. They include removing lane drops to provide
roadway continuity; access management such as eliminating private driveways, closing
medians, and developing a supporting roadway system; and operational and safety
improvements that include median left-turn lanes, intersection street lighting, and
revising traffic signal timing. The final Plan for the Highway 10 Corridor will be an
overall blueprint to guide future steps for roadway improvements that address safety,
mobility and access through the Highway 10 Corridor.

--more--
