ALL COMMENTS OF THE CITY ENGINEER BE ADDRESSED. <br /> <br />2. THE BUILDING SHALL COMPLY WITH THE BUILDING AND FIRE <br /> CODE REQUIREMENTS. <br /> <br />3. ONE ADDITIONAL HANDICAP-PARKING STALL SHALL BE <br /> PROVIDED. <br /> <br />4. THE MOTION <br />CARRIED 5-0. <br /> <br />6,7, <br /> <br />Request by City. of Ellc River for Conditional Use Permit for Publ/c Safety Facility and <br />Expansion of E,,dsting City Hall. Public Hearing - Case No, CU 01-09 <br /> <br />Staff report submitted by Director of Planning Michele McPherson. Ms. McPherson stated <br />that the City of Elk River xvould like to build a new public safety facility and expand the <br />current city hall facility. She discussed zoning, landscaping, site impacts, parking, building <br />design, and Planning Commission comments. <br /> <br />City Engineer Terry Maurer reviewed and commended on the traffic concerns raised at the <br />Planning Commission meeting. <br /> <br />JeffWrede, Tushie-Montgomery Architects - Reviewed roofing options for the city hall <br />facility. He recommended a metal roof as it will last longer and would give the building a <br />more professional appearance. The costs for the different roof options are as follows: <br /> <br /> Warranty Total Cost <br />Residential 15 yr $150 a square $ 7,500 <br />Cedar 25 yr $250 a square $12,500 <br />Metal 50 yr $850 a square $ 42,500 <br /> <br />Mayor Klinzing opened the public hearing. <br /> <br />Liz Tveite, representing Sherburne County Fairboard - Stated that the Fairboard is <br />concerned about the impact of the public safety facility on their east gate entrance. She <br />stated that the Board would need another entrance for semi-trucks and demolition cars. She <br />als0 noted that there would be some expense in moving this gate and is concerned about <br />who would pay for the cost. <br /> <br />Councilmember Dietz stated that the city wants to remain good neighbors with the Board <br />and they could work together on this issue. <br /> <br /> <br />
