Department Goals for 2OO2 <br /> <br />SHORT TERM GOALS <br /> <br />Street Department: · Continue to improve communication with the public regarding snow plowing <br /> policy, road restrictions, pothole patching, seal coating, crack filling, recycling <br /> yard waste, brush and used oil, and other services offered by the department. <br /> · Continue our annual seal coating program. Areas scheduled for seal coating <br /> are Nordic Hills, Ridgewood Hills, Avon Acres, Ranch Road, Fresno Street, <br /> Mississippi Heights, Victoria Drive and 2252 Street. <br /> · Improve the drainage on Highland Road near Jackson Road. <br /> · Start a "snow plow" safety program for elementary students. <br /> · Do a mailbox program for cul-de-sacs to improve plow-ability. <br /> · Add a snow plowing route (primarily in the eastern area). <br /> · Add a loader snow plowing route (new City Hall and cul-de-sacs). <br /> <br />Shop Area Improvements: · Replace our present salt storage building with a new, larger facility. <br /> · Construct a cold storage building. <br /> · Improve the compost and brush drop off facility. <br /> <br />Park Goals: · Complete the inside improvements at the Trott Brook Barn. <br /> · Landscape the new Lion's Park building and rebuild the trail lights. <br /> · Pour concrete pads and assemble bleachers at Kuss Field/softball complex. <br /> · Expand the parking lot and install a kiosk at Hillside Park. <br /> · Install bleachers and irrigation at YAC fields and seed fields 5 & 6. <br /> · Install garbage corral and park benches at Barrington Park. <br /> · Install additional playground equipment at Baldwin Park. <br /> · Install new playground equipment at Mississippi Oaks. <br /> · Install new playground equipment at Fresno Park. <br /> · Plant trees and landscape at Riverplace Park. <br /> · Install safety fencing and landscape at Deerfield IV Park. <br /> · Plant trees and landscape Riverplace Park. <br /> <br />Employee Goals: <br /> · Add one Maintenance I worker for additional park work and new snow <br /> plowing route (late 2002). <br /> · Add one Maintenance I worker for additional park work and new loader snow <br /> plowing route (spring 2003). <br /> <br /> <br />
