GENERAL <br /> <br />This memorandum summarizes the substantive changes that will be made by adoption of the new city code. All <br />references are to the current city code unless otherwise noted. <br /> PART II. GENERAL CHANGES <br /> <br />The following changes are made in all ordinances in.the completed code without further mention: <br /> <br /> 1. Incorrect grammar has been corrected. <br /> <br /> 2. Catchlines have been altered so as to reflect the contents of the section and so as to mesh with the <br /> organizational scheme of the code. The general provisions chapter (se~,ae~b4c~j~'4) provides <br /> that catchlines are not part of the law; therefore, sections have been reworded so as to be independent <br /> of catch tines. <br /> <br /> 3. The Code has been edited in light of' the genera[ provisions chapter (~'~'*a~;~¢,~) so as to <br /> dim inate redundancies. <br /> <br />The word "said" has been changed to "such" or ~tthe," as appropriate. <br /> <br />The pt~rase '5n the event that" has been changed to "if." <br /> <br />The word "fireman" (and variants thereo0 has been changed to"firefighter" (and appropriate variants <br />thereof). <br /> <br />The word"policeman" (and variants thereo~) has been changed to "police officer" (and appropriate <br />variants thereo0. <br /> <br />8. All references to the stare statutes has been cited as "Minn. Stats." <br /> <br /> <br />
