City <br /> <br />MEMORANDUM <br /> <br />"" Item # <br /> <br />TO: <br /> <br />FROM: <br /> <br />DATE: <br /> <br />SUBJECT: <br /> <br />Mayor and City Council <br /> <br />Sandra Peine, City Clerk <br /> <br />October 28, 2002 <br /> <br />Application to Conduct Annual Off-Site Gambling by Elk River Youth <br />Hockey <br /> <br />REQUEST <br /> <br />The Elk River Youth Hockey Association has requested an application to conduct off-site <br />gambling. <br /> <br />APPLICANT <br /> <br />Elk River Youth Hockey Association <br /> <br />BACKGROUND <br /> <br />The Elk River Youth Hockey Association will be holding a raffle on April 16, 2003. The <br />event will take place at the Elk River Ice Arena. The Hockey Association already holds a <br />gambling premises permit to allow gambling at Mitch Miller's Olde Town Tavern. Because <br />the raffle event will not take place at the location of the Premise Permit, the State requires <br />that the Council adopt a resolution approving an application for off-site gambling. <br /> <br />ACTION REQUESTED <br /> <br />Council motion adopting the attached resolution approving application for Elk River Youth <br />Hockey Association to conduct annual off-site gambling. <br /> <br />S:\CLERK\LICENSES\GAMBL1NG\Off-Site Gambling Memo.doc <br /> <br /> <br />
