The attached is a breakdown of the cost quotations I <br />received from three cleaners. As you can see, the rates quoted are all close. After <br />interviewing the three firms, I would like to recommend hiring Options, Inc. of Big Lake to <br />clean the library for a 2 month trial period. If their service is satisfactory, allow them the <br />opportunity to adjust their rates up or down to match our needs. <br /> <br />My second suggestion is to hire Toni Karpe to furnish cleaners for City Hall and Lions Center <br />for a 2 month trial period. This will also be with an opportunity to adjust rates at that time if <br />the service they provide is satisfactory. <br /> <br />I believe the 2 month trial period and rate adjustment opportunity is the only fair way to be <br />provided the cleaning service we want at a fair price. It would be extremely difficult to <br />estimate the cleaning time involved until they had an opportunity to work in the building. I <br />am not concerned that either group will take unfair advantage of the City, because we can <br />terminate the agreement at 2 months and hire another cleaning company. In turn, I also do <br />not want to take unfair advantage of the cleaners, because of an estimating error on their <br />part. <br /> <br />I have checked references on both groups and have received very high recommendations. <br />will be on hand at Tuesday's meeting to answer any questions. <br /> <br />Council Action Requested <br />Request Council to approve the hiring Options, Inc. of Big Lake to clean the library per <br />attached agreement for $689 per month, for a 2 month trial period with an opportunity to <br />adjust rates at that time. In addition, approve hiring Toni Karpe of Elk River to clean City <br />Hall and Lions Center per attached agreement for $1,070 per month for City Hall and $350 <br />per month for Lions Center for a 2 month trial period with an opportunity to adjust rates at <br />that time. <br /> <br /> <br />
