RESOLUTION 02 - <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION FOR THE CITY OF ELK RIVER <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION COMMENTING ON THE DRAFT SCOPING DOCUMENT FOR THE <br /> NORTHWEST CORRIDOR AND RIVER CROSSING STUDY <br /> <br />WHEREAS <br /> <br />a committee was established to review the need for and consider <br />alternatives for a river crossing; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS <br /> <br />based on committee findings, Mn/DOT has prepared a draft scoping <br />decision document; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS <br /> <br />construction of the Mississippi River crossing between the cities of <br />Ramsey and Dayton will have a significant impact on TH 169 and TH 10 <br />peak traffic volumes through the City of Elk River; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS <br /> <br />the TH 10 and TH 101-TH 169 interregional corridor management plans <br />propose improvements to TH 10 and TH 169 in Elk River, which will have <br />a major impact on the City. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Elk River, <br />Minnesota: <br /> <br />The City of Elk River requests Mn/Dot undertake a highway systems study <br />focusing on a potential TH 169 bypass from the river crossing at TH 10 <br />through northern Anoka County and into Sherburne County north of the City <br />of Elk River. <br /> <br />Passed and adopted this 14th day of October, 2002. <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br />Stephanie A.
