The Public Safety project includes the upstairs shell for future office expansion, the gun
range shell, and a twelve vehicle garage. The project contingency is slightly over $400,000. It
is very unlikely that there will be sufficient funds in the contingency to finance the
completion of the gun range ($203,000).

The construction managers (Kraus-Anderson) have high expectations that the building will
be enclosed before winter so that interior work can move forward without interruption. It is
scheduled that part of the parking lot expansion will be completed this fall. Additionally,
work on Orono Parkway is scheduled to be completed in the very near future and an update
by the city engineer on this project is planned for the October 14, 2002, Council meeting.

This item is on the City Council agenda as an update and no Council action is being
requested.

Coundl/ Pat/ CH-PSUpdatebonds
