The purpose of the open house was to allow the public an opportunity to meet the <br />three developers being considered for the downtown revitalization project, review their <br />concepts, ask questions and provide feedback to the HRA and Council regarding likes, <br />dislikes and issues of concern. <br /> <br />The open house was communicated by the following ac6vides: · Interview with Star News and cover story in the July 10th edition, as well as additional <br /> coverage in the July 17 publication. <br /> · Event flyers and news release distributed to over 30 businesses via the Rivers Edge <br /> Business Association. <br /> · Announcement at the July 10, 2002 Rivers Edge Business Assoc. regular meeting. <br /> · Event flyers posted at the library, city hall, municipal utilities office and Lion's Park <br /> Center. <br /> · Announcement on ErtV Channel 12. <br /> <br />Staff estimates approximately 50 people attended the open house. There was no formal <br />presentation, rather a series of informal discussions between the public and developers. The <br />developers had presentation boards of their concept for downtown and their redevelopment <br />experience. The public was asked to sign-in and to fill out a comment form to provide <br />feedback to the Council and HRA. Fifteen comment forms were completed and submitted. <br /> <br />Staff also provided information on the downtown revitalization project goal and objectives, <br />chronology, redevelopment process and project newsletters. <br /> <br /> <br />
