The faCade is
covered in brick, wood paneling, and wood shingles. The original facade was reportedly
stucco-clad and appears to have had a central marquee that is boxed in by the
modernizations. A painted mural covers the north side of the building.

Significance
One of two theatres that stood on this block, this building was one of the last additions
· to Main Street before 1950. A Guide to the Architecture of Minnesota (University of
Milmesota Press, 1977) noted that the building was "styled in the Streamline Moderne
with white stucco and glass brick comers (p. 160). At present the exterior does not retain
historic integrity.

Elk River Historic Contexts and Phase H Downtown Commercial Area Study
65
