If the <br />sampler is driven less than 18" (usually in highly resistant <br />material), permitted in ASTM:D1586, the blows for each <br />complete 6" increment and for each partial increment is on the <br />boring log. For partial increments, the number of blows is <br />shown to the nearest 0.1' below the slash. <br /> <br />The length of sample recovered, as shown on the "REC' <br />column, may be greater than the distance indicated in the N <br />column.
