*Item 3.4. * <br /> <br />Pdver <br /> <br />MEMORANDUM <br /> <br />TO: <br /> <br />Mayor and City Council <br /> <br />FROM: <br /> <br />Gary Leirmoe, VVVVTP Chief Operator <br /> <br />DATE: <br /> <br />August 19, 2002 <br /> <br />SUBJECT: Consider HiringWastewater Operator <br /> <br />The City of Elk River Wastewater Department interviewed applicants for the vacant <br />Wastewater Operator position on August 12, 2002. Staff is recommending Scott Wilson to fill <br />this position. Employment will be contingent on the successful completion of a pre- <br />employment drivers license and background check and a drug and alcohol screening. <br />Scott recently graduated from the Water/Wastewater program at St. Cloud Technical College <br />with a Minnesota Class D Wastewater Certification and comes highly recommended from his <br />instructors there. Staff is recommending that Scott start at step 9, pay grade B ($14.91/hour) <br />starting September 3, 2002. <br /> <br />Action Requested <br />Council approval to hire Scott Wilson as a Wastewater Operator starting at step 9, pay grade B <br />($14.91/hour) contingent upon the successful completion of a pre-employment drivers license <br />and background check and a drug and alcohol screen. Scott would start work September 3, <br />2002. <br /> <br /> <br />
