MEMORANDUM <br /> <br />Item ~ 4.3. <br /> <br />TO: <br /> <br />FROM: <br /> <br />DATE: <br /> <br />SUBJECT: <br /> <br />Mayor and City Council <br /> <br />Sandra Peine, City Clerk <br /> <br />September 23, 2002 <br /> <br />Consider Hiring Secretary/Receptionist <br /> <br />REQUEST <br /> <br />Staff is requesting Council approval to hire Carol Hanson as Secretary/Receptionist at 22.5 <br />hours per week. <br /> <br />BACKGROUND <br /> <br />Thirty applications were received for the position. Of the thirty applicants, five were <br />interviewed. Following the interview process, which included a criminal history background <br />check and reference checks, staff is requesting the council to hire Carol Hanson for the <br />position. The position is a job share position, which requires the person hired to work the <br />hours of 12:00 to 4:30, Monday through Friday. <br /> <br />I am proposing that Carol be hired at pay grade 5, step A, which equates to $10.99 per hour <br />with a cost of living increase on January 1, 2003. <br /> <br />ACTION REQUESTED <br /> <br />Staffis requesting Council to hire Carol Hanson as Secretary/Recepfiomst at 22.5 hours per <br />week beginning September 26, 2002, and that her wage be set at pay grade 5, step A, with a <br />cost of living increase on January 1, 2003. <br /> <br /> <br />
