Retention Activities
Retention should focus on members feeling their involvement and participation is of benefit
and value to their organization and needs. Key to ensuring this is the ability to communicate
and engage the appropriate individuals in a way that supports cooperation and collective
decision-making that will produce desired outcomes. It is important to clearly identify and
understand agency and project objectives, goals, responsibilities, capabilities and limitations,
in order to develop astep-by-step approach to moving projects and plans forward. This
involves facilitation, coordination and collaboration among city, county, regional and state
planning staff relative to transportation planning efforts and project implementation.
Tasks associated with retention activities include:
• Ensuring productive use of time at Coalition meetings; produce concise and
. informative updates and appropriate materials for members; stay on task with
activities and plans.
TH10/169 Corridor Coalition The Tinklenberg Group
DRAFT 2008 Membership Plan 2 January 2008
