She stated the <br />reason businesses like hers want to locate in business parks is that can keep their costs <br />down. She stated that this is about other sports, not just dance. <br />There being no further public comment, Chair Stevens closed the public hearing. <br />Commissioner Lemke stated that this ordinance amendment would allow physical <br />recreation/training in the C1, C3, and Business Park zoning districts, where the underlying <br />land use is Mixed Use or Highway Business. He stated that he feels the Commission is <br />being pressured to fill space in Mr. Briggs building. Commissioner Lemke asked what the <br />impact would be if the use was allowed in all Business Park Districts as a Conditional Use <br />Permit. Mr. Barnhart stated that it would be difficult to deny a conditional use permit, since <br />it virtually is a permitted use with conditions. Mr. Barnhart reviewed the details of the <br />proposed ordinance amendment. <br />Commissioner Lemke stated that he would prefer to move the amendment forward to the <br />City Council. <br />MOTION BY COMMISSIONER LEMKE AND SECONDED BY <br />COMMISSIONER AUSTAD TO RECOMMEND APPROVAL OF THE <br />ORDINANCE AMENDMENT AS PROPOSED IN THE STAFF REPORT TO <br />THE COMMISSION DATED JUNE 12, 2007. MOTION CARRIED 4-1. <br />Commissioner Scott opposed. <br />6.
