The major <br />components of the project include a new building with a mercury reduction filter, a new garage stall to <br />house the existing jet truck, replacement of the ultraviolet treatment equipment and standby generation to <br />run the entire plant, along with other minor miscellaneous improvements. The original estimate including <br />a 15 percent contingency was $4.3 million. The low bid received by Gridor Construction, Inc. was <br />$3,594,700. There were a total of nine bids received. Therefore, we are prepared to recommend award to them as the lowest responsible <br />bidder. <br />Financial Impact <br />The total project cost including engineering (approximately $680,000) and project contingency ($180,000) <br />is $4,454,700 (excluding yet to be determined building permit cost). The total project cost will be funded <br />by existing sewer reserves which have been accumulated over the years from Sewer Availability Charges <br />(SAC) payments. <br />
