This was a direct result of the Council's review of a request fox <br />Art Soup signage on -City right-of--way. The Planning Commission discussed this at the September <br />workshop asking additional policy questions. At -the November 19, 2007 workshop the City Council <br />answered policy questions, and directed staff to draft an ordinance amendment fox adoption. <br />Attachments <br />Ordinance <br />Overview/Analysis <br />Based on the direction received thus fax on this topic, staff recommends the following ordinance. New <br />text proposed to the existing ordinance is underlined, and text from an existing ordinance to be deleted <br />would be would be s~. <br />Proposed ordinance amendments: <br />Section 30-866. District Regulations <br />(7)d. Signs must be located on the property of the business and the advertising message must only relate <br />to business conducted on that premises, except that nonprofit or charitable organizations as defined by <br />Internal Revenue Code section 501(C)(3)-may have off-premises signs for their fundraising activities, <br />provided they obtain permission from the property owner. Nonprofit organizations shall be limited to <br />three signs per event and the signs shall not exceed the number of days allowed in subsection (7)a of this <br />section. If event is advertised for more than 30 davs it shall count toward that uroberties 90 day limit for <br />temporary signage. <br />
