The request is specific only to the change of the material for the window awnings. Staff and the Planning Commission recommend the City Council approve the Conditional Use Permit request, as illustrated on drawings dated 11/05/07, with the following conditions: 1. As a Conditional Use Permit is not a Building Permit, the applicant shall apply for all require permits. 2. All window awnings shall be of a metal standing seam material, as shown on revision sheets "ASI 6 A1" - "ASI G A6" 3. The two north facade artificial windows shall be either metal or fabric. 4. All conditions, as approved on February 20, 2007, shall also be maintained. Summary The subject building (CUP and building materials) was approved on February 20, 2007 which included fabric awnings above the windows. The applicant is requesting they be allowed to substitute the fabric with metal standing seam roofing. Planning Commission Discussion The Planning Commission stated they had no issues with the request and that the metal awnings fit the character of the building better. They said they were less concerned with the material type (if an acceptable material) but just that the building had awnings. The Planning Commission unanimously recommended approval of the request. Public Comment No one spoke at the public hearing.
