Sherburne County Landfill Legacy Grant
The City and County have entered into an agreement awarding the City $1,403,000 for the
YMCA project through the Legacy Grant. According to the County's formula, the City is
eligible for up to $2 million of grant funds. The current grant award was based on estimated
qualifying materials in the project. Recent data from the project construction manager
indicates that this estimate is low; there may be eligible materials far in excess of $2 million.
According to discussions with County staff, the City will be allowed to amend the grant
agreement to increase the amount based on the actual eligible recycled material used in the
construction project. If that is the case, the City maybe able to use the entire grant amount
for this project.
S:\Council\Lori\2007\Joint meeting county board 12 10 07.doc
