REQUEST FOR ACTION <br />To Item Number <br />Ci Council 3.5.C* <br />Agenda Section Meeting Date Prepared by <br />Consent December 3, 2007 Bill Maertz, Parks and Recreation <br /> Director <br />Item Description Reviewed by <br />Authorization to Promote Recreation Program Leader to Lori ohnson, Ci Administrator <br />Recreation Coordinator Position Reviewed by <br />Action Requested <br />Authorization to promote Recreation Program Leader Stephanie Albino to the Recreation Coordinator <br />Position effective January 2, 2008. <br />Background/Discussion <br />The proposed transfer of the Recreation Coordinator Ross Demant to the Park Maintenance position will <br />create a vacancy in that position. Staff is recommending the promotion of Stephanie Albino to fill that <br />position. Since May of 2006, Stephanie has been employed part time as a Recreation Program Leader with <br />Elk River Parks and Recreation and has excelled in every facet of the job. Duties have included planning <br />and leading field trips, leading summer program staff, and working with local businesses to secure special <br />event sponsorships. In addition, Stephanie has assisted the Program Coordinator with planning and <br />managing community events such as the downtown concerts and movies. <br />Ms. Albino has a bachelor's degree in Education from the University of North Dakota. Her previous <br />work experience includes elementary teacher in Sidney MT, parks and recreation supervisor in Grand <br />Forks ND, and Health Department prevention specialist in Richland County MT. This position is a pay <br />grade 6.
