November 27, 2007 <br />Mick Stoffers, Ann Schroeder, Karen Stelk, John Dietz, Mike Hangaard, Joan Allen <br />from GRRL and Bill Maertz from the City were in attendance. <br />Meeting was called to order at 6:33pm. <br />A quorum was established. <br />The agenda, secretary's report and treasurer's report were reviewed, a motion and <br />second were made to approve all. <br />New business: Bill has requested an updated punch list it is substantially complete. <br />A 350k-pay request has been submitted there is a 5% holdback and a 7 2 <br />holdback for mechanical. Bill with coordinate with Jenny to retain 250k for final <br />payment. The teen and children's area need panel changes and bookshelves the <br />porch site is under discussion. The Gold LEED certification is progressing should be <br />fully commissioned before Spring 2008. The Pawlenty Green Initiative Award has <br />been applied for. <br />Librarian's Report: GRRL to make decision between two self-checkout systems, 3M <br />and Envision wear. For the library to become "wireless" GRRL is getting a new <br />server to provide that service. $650 has been donated and will be used to purchase <br />artwork to go over the f fireplace. An aerial shot or contacting the Elk River Arts <br />Council to obtain something from a local artist was mentioned. Once we have a few <br />prints to pick from we will involve the family who donated the money in the final <br />decision. Friends of the library have agreed to purchase: 2 wooden book carts to <br />be by the circ desk, a DVD player and holder and a kit holder. Tina has been <br />contacted regarding the open position on the library board. The security addition <br />is $150 per motion detector, three are recommended and $95 unit for panic <br />buttons. The handles have been removed from the windows in the library, some <br />were already missing so to deter any further misuse they were removed. <br />There is no meeting in December for January and February Ann will be out of state. <br />Meeting adjourned at 7:10pm <br />
