Reviewed by <br />Action Requested <br />The Council is asked to consider a resolution making a transfer from the Municipal Liquor Fund to the <br />Ice Arena special revenue fund in the amount of $9,500. <br />Backciround/Discussion <br />The 2008 preliminary budget included a transfer from the Municipal Liquor Fund to the Ice Arena Fund <br />for a battery replacement on the electric zamboni. Rich Czech (Ice Arena Manager) had hoped the <br />battery would last unti12008, but the battery recently lost its capability of holding a charge. Rich did <br />budget in the Ice Arena budget for the battery replacement, but by transferring as anticipated in 2008 <br />from the Municipal Liquor fund that would reduce the amount transferred from the General Fund in <br />2007 to the Ice Arena. <br />Normally a charge of the battery will resurface the ice sheet 8-12 times before it needs to be re-charged. <br />With dual resurfacing a battery typically lasts 4-5 years and this battery was purchased in the summer of <br />2004. <br />Financial Impact <br />A transfer in the amount of $9,500 from the Municipal Liquor Fund. <br />Attachments <br />Resolution authorizing a transfer from the Municipal Liquor Fund to the Ice Arena Special Revenue <br />Fund. <br />Action Motion by Second by Vote <br />Follow Up <br />S: \Council\Tim\ZamboniBattery.doc <br />
