.'"~ ~ j <br />Elk REQUEST FOR ACTION <br />River <br />To Item Number <br />Ci Council 3.4.* <br />Agenda Section Meeting Date Prepared by <br />Consent November 5, 2007 erem Barnhart, Plannin Mana er <br />Item Description Reviewed by <br />Resolution Lifting the Moratorium of the Issuance of Building <br />Permits for "Advertising Signs" and/or Signage that Utilizes Reviewed by <br />"Electronic Changeable Copy" <br />Action Requested <br />Adoption of attached resolution lifting the sign moratorium. <br />Background/Discussion <br />On February 20, 2007, the City Council adopted by resolution an interim ordinance prohibiting the <br />issuance of a building permit for certain kinds of signs, specifically those utilizing electrical changeable <br />.copy, pending the review and adoption of ordinance amendments further regulating those signs. <br />Ordinance OA 07-10 was approved by the City Council on July 16, 2007. <br />On September 10, 2007, the City Council agreed that the sign ordinance has satisfactorily been amended <br />and directed staff to draft appropriate documents to lift the moratorium prior to its original sunset date, <br />February 20, 2008.
