Library Board Meeting <br />August 28, 2007 <br />Mick Stoffers, Ann Schroeder, Karen Stelk, John Dietz, Joan Allen from 6RRL and <br />Nick Zerwas City Council Liaison, were in attendance. <br />Meeting was called to order at 6:30pm. <br />A quorum was established. <br />The agenda, secretary's report and treasurer's report were reviewed, a motion and <br />second were made to approve all. <br />No suggestion box. <br />Old business: There is a new additional expense for the Econar pumps. Nick will <br />check who will be paying for that. <br />Librarian's Report: Mick went over the details regarding Open House. It has been <br />changed back to October 13t" due to the fact author Will Weaver can only make <br />that date. Invitations will be sent, open house will begin at 9:OOam with the ribbon <br />cutting and then speakers. The theme is: "There's something for everyone at the <br />Library." <br />The last day the library at its current location will be open is 9/22, patrons either <br />need to suspend holds or have their requests sent to Big Lake, Monticello, etc. A <br />moving company has been hired, they will pull off material, shrink wrap and <br />dismantle the shelving. During the next week the new furniture will arrive. First <br />day of business in its new location will be the day of the Open House, 10/13. Self- <br />check out will be installed but not ready for Open House, a maintenance agreement <br />will also be purchased. <br />The final walk through will be 10/17. <br />There has been an interest expressed in opening a Coffee Shop. <br />The community room regulations have been edited and will now go through the <br />attorney for approval they will then go in front of the City Council. <br />There will be no meeting in September, Mick will contact us in early October for a <br />tour of the new facility. <br />Meeting adjourned at 7:30pm <br />
