The map was
pxo~rided as a JPEG file, making repxoducdons and updates difficult. Specifically, it was often difficult to
`zoom' into a certain area of the city to see lot by lot detail.
This was a deficiency most notable during the Council's discussion of a proposed rezoning on
Meadowvale Road in 2006. The subject property was in an intersection of two different land uses, and it
was unclear if the subject property was to he industrial, commercial, etc.
Since then staff has been developing a CAD version of the map, which is the same format of the zoning
maps and other mapping information used by the City. Staff requests the Council adopt the map as
attached, allowing Staff to eliminate the less clear version. The map, as presented tonight, represents no
change from the original map as seen by the Council. Once approved, Staff will incorporate the
previously approved changes into the map, so that the map is an up-to-date representation of the
CouncIl's vision fox the City. The approval of this map does not negate the previously approved land use
changes.
The action tonight is purely a housekeeping measure, intended to recognize the new map format.
Attachments
Old Map, with zoomed example
New Map, with zoomed example
Action bfotion by Second by Vote
Follow Up
