It is
easier for us to e-mail our concerns to all of you at once, and would
appreciate a follow-up phone call if you need clarification from us. We will
be out of town next week and unable to attend the meeting as invited. Our
comments, concerns, and questions are listed below, as we prepare this
letter, the list gets longer, and so we'll begin here.

In our immediate area (Morton street, proposed trail)

* Trail and park are in a flood plain and would suffer yearly damage
requiring cleanup and
reconstruction.
* River board walk- Have you seen the riverbank? The sides in this area are
very steep, how can.
a boardwalk be built within the DNR regulations?
* How can private landowners loose that much property? Some of these homes
will have the
boardwalk at their back steps. Is there a plan for proper compensation
for their loss?
* What will this loss of view and privacy do to my property value?

Future of Elk River: The big picture that affects all residents.

* Did the Task Force consider the State's plan for Highway 10?
* Traffic is already a problem on Jackson and Main Street, how is taking TWO

7/31/2007
