A total of five bids were received. Following is a list of the <br />contractors and their bids. <br /> <br />c.ontrnctor <br />Veit and Company, Inc. <br />W.B. Miller, Inc. <br />Rohling Green Corporation <br />CCS Contracting, Inc. <br />R.L. Larson Excavating, Inc. <br /> <br />Bid <br />$33,255.60 <br />$37,810.00 <br />$53,165.00 <br />$60,000.00 <br />$83,720.00 <br /> <br />Veit and Company, Inc. completed the last City rip rap project, constructed in 1991, and <br />is experienced in this type of work. They were very cooperative to work with and met all <br />specifications of the project. <br /> <br />The grant received from the Sherburne County Soil and Water Conservation District and <br />matching City funds provided $40,000.00 for the project. Discussions with Mr. Don <br />Rachael ofVeit and Company, Inc. indicate their willingness to add rip rap to the project <br />to fully utilize the $40,000.00 funds available for the project. <br /> <br />We recommend award of the 1994 Rip Rap Improvements Project at your November 21, <br />1994, City Council meeting to Veit and Company, Inc., as the lowest responsible bidder. <br />Work would occur this winter following execution of the Contract Documents.
