<br />RESOLUTION 94- <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION FOR THE CITY OF ELK RIVER <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING EXECUTION <br />OF GRANT AGREEMENT FOR THE SAFE AND SOBER <br />NATIONAL TRAFFIC SAFETY CAMPAIGN <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Elk River Police Department; Sherburne County <br />Sheriffs Office, Big Lake Police Department and the Becker <br />Police Department have jointly made application to the <br />Minnesota Department of Public Safety to receive and <br />expend "Safe and Sober" grant funds in an effort to unite <br />national, state, and local efforts to reduce alcohol-related <br />crashes and increase safety belt and child safety seat use <br />with quarterly programs; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Elk River Police Department, Sherburne County <br />Sheriffs Office, Big Lake Police Department and the Becker <br />Police Department have been selected as a participant in the <br />1995 Safe and Sober Campaign and have been awarded <br />funding in the amount of $20,000 for the implementation of <br />. the proposed Safe and Sober Program. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Elk River enter <br />into a grant agreement with the Office of Traffic Safety in <br />the Minnesota Department of Public Safety for the program <br />entitled Safe & Sober Communities. <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Thomas D. Zerwas is hereby <br />authorized to execute and sign such grant agreement and <br />amendments as are necessary to implement the project on <br />behalf of the City of Elk River. <br /> <br />I certify that the above resolution was adopted by the City Council ofthe City <br />of Elk River this Srd day of October, 1994. <br /> <br />Larry A.
