Assignments will <br />include: hardware and software installation, software troubleshooting, software upgrades, <br />documentation, and user support. <br /> <br />Essential Functions <br />1. Provides desktop support for all of the city's end users. <br />A. Installs and supports PC hardware including desktop PC's, notebook PC's, mobile <br />PC's, printers, plotrers, scanners, PDA's and other hardware devices. <br />B. Supports desktop operating systems. <br />C. Answers user questions on hardware, printing, Internet, and messaging issues. <br />D. Installs and supports desktop shrink-wrapped applications including Microsoft <br />Office, Norton Antivirus, and Microsoft Internet Explorer. <br /> <br />2. Maintains documentation. <br />A. Assists in keeping hardware and software inventory documents current. <br />B. Assists in maintaining help desk call logs. <br />C. Assists in maintaining application software library to include media, documentation, <br />and licensing information. <br /> <br />3, Performs other essential job duties. <br />A. Regular and timely work attendance. <br />B. Follows all safety procedures. <br />C. Participates in safety training. <br /> <br />Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities <br />D Ability to provide basic microcomputer hardware and software repair, installation and <br />physical inventory control. <br />D Ability to understand and use computer diagnostic tools. <br />D Ability to understand computer hardware and architecture and the operating systems in use, <br />D Ability to understand custom and shrink-wrapped applications. <br />D Ability to take and resolve help calls from end users. <br />D Ability to lift 30 pounds. <br /> <br />Page 1 <br />
