By working with the Initiative Foundation, the Lake Association is eligible for grant <br />funding to improve the quality of the lake. The grant funding will be used for various lake tests <br />(phosphorus, cWorophyll A, etc), implementation and monitoring of best management practices, <br />educational materials, and a survey to residents regarding water quality. The match for the grant will be <br />the city's budgeted amount and in-kind support from the Sherburne County Soil & Water Conservation <br />District, volunteer time, Sherburne County Sentence to Serve Crew, and possibly other community <br />groups. <br /> <br />As part of the grant application process, the City Council is required to make a motion of support <br />showing their commitment to improving the water quality of Lake Orono. <br /> <br />Financial Impact <br />Budgeted amount of $2,000 and staff time. <br /> <br />Attachments <br /> <br />.
