It has been reviewed pursuant to responsibilities given to the Minnesota Historical Society by the Minnesota Historic Sites Act and the Minnesota Field Archaeology Act and through the process outlined in Minnesota Rules 4410.1600. There are no properties in the project area that are listed on the National Register of Historic Places or included in our inventory. In the absence of reported properties, we have also evaluated the likelihood that unreported historic or archaeological properties may be present. Although we cannot state with certainty that there are no significant unreported historical or archaeological properties within the project area, we feel that the probabil- ity of such properties being present is low. Therefore, in our opinion, the "no" response to question 26a is appropriate. We note that this project has been issued a permit from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (94-00601-NW-GAE). We do not have a record of receiving a notification of this permit for review, By way of a copy of this letter, we are requesting that the Corps clarify the status of the Section 106 review of this project.
