<br />Memorandum <br /> <br /> <br />To: Pat Klaers <br />From: Chief Torn Zerwas <br /> <br />Date: 8-26-94 <br /> <br />Police Department <br /> <br />Subject: Supervisory Staff Comparison <br /> <br />A recent poll was conducted of Police Departments in cities listed <br /> <br /> <br />under Group V (MN Dept. of Public Safety Crime Information 1992 ed.) <br /> <br /> <br />which closely resemble ours. Those departments (See Attached) range <br /> <br /> <br />from 15 - 23 sworn officers with a population of between 11,000 _ <br /> <br /> <br />16,534. Direct attention was given to the specific number of <br /> <br /> <br />supervisory staff for each department. Results indicated that of <br /> <br /> <br />fourteen area departments, thirteen had either a Lieutenent, Captain, <br /> <br /> <br />or Deputy Chief; Each department had an average of four Sergeants, <br /> <br /> <br />.
