<br />. <br /> <br />The Park and Recreation Commission reviewed this request and is <br />recommending the City accept the 50 acre parcel as park. They also <br />recommend the City try to negotiate a purchase agreement on the area <br />identified as high priority. The Park and Recreation Commission's <br />recommendation was based on the proposed park land being a significant <br />natural area that makes a logical extension of Woodland Trails Park. <br /> <br />Shiely Company currently own 938 acres within the City limits. The Park <br />and Recreation Commission felt comfortable that enough additional land <br />could be required of Shiely in the future to satisfy any additional park needs <br />that may arise on the remainder of their property. <br /> <br />The Planning Commission also reviewed this request. They concurred with <br />the recommendation of the Park and Recreation Commission and <br />recommended that the City Council direct staff to start negotiations with <br />Shiely so that there might be a resolution prior to Shiely's' conditional use <br />permit for mineral excavation being considered by the City Council on <br />September 19th. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />parklandJB&Z <br />
