The final property tax <br />certified by a unty, school district, city, or . <br />metropolitan s cial taxing district cannot <br />exceed its prop sed property tax except for <br />several exempt ons authorized for events <br />occurring after t e proposed tax was certified. <br />If a town bo rd modifies the town's final <br />property tilx at a special town meeting after <br />September t 5, e town board must recertify <br />its modified pr perty tilx at this time. If a <br />county, school istrict, city, town, or special <br />taxing district has not certified its final <br />property tax b this time, its property tax <br />shall be the a ount levied by it in the <br />preceding year.
