Council Updates <br /> <br />There were no Council Updates. <br /> <br />10. Staff Updates <br />10.1. TH 169 Study Status <br /> <br />City Engineer Terry Maurer provided an update on the Highway 169 study as outlined in his <br />staff report. <br /> <br />Counci1member Farber questioned if the process could move at a faster pace. Mr. Maurer <br />indicated that the consultant should have a final answer by summer. <br /> <br />Councilmember Morin indicated that he would like this item to be scheduled for a <br />worksession after the focus group discussion is completed. <br /> <br />Mr. Maurer stated that the Council should act as though they are guiding this project. <br /> <br />Discussion took place on the annual Mn/DOT tour and whether or not a local <br />representative from Mn/DOT could attend the tour. Mr. Maurer explained that he will <br />attempt to get a local representative to attend the tour. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />10.2. Downtown Redevelopment Plan Task Force Update <br /> <br />City Administrator Lori Johnson indicated that Mark Urista, Chair of the Downtown <br />Redevelopment Plan Taskforce was going to be present to provide and update but this item <br />has been postponed to the March 12 worksession due to the length of the agenda tonight. <br /> <br />10.3. Discuss Elk River Lions Proposal to Contribute to Splash Park at YMCA <br /> <br />Harold Gramstad, Elk River Lions, stated that the Elk River Lions would like to partner <br />with the city and contribute up to 40% of their pull tab revenues towards a Splash Park. Mr. <br />Gramstad explained that the Lions first choice would be to have the Splash Park located at <br />Lions Park but since a Splash Park is proposed to be part of the YMCA project, the Lions <br />would be willing to dedicate funds towards this project as long as a fee schedule allows for <br />admission fees to be separated from a YMCA membership. He stated that he would like the <br />Splash Park to be available to the entire community and not just YMCA members. <br /> <br />Ms. Johnson indicated that the YMCA has suggested that the Lions funding go towards <br />outside changing and bathroom facilities to make the Splash Park accessible from outside of <br />the YMCA. Ms. Johnson explained that details of the project such as cost and schedule have <br />not been discussed by the YMCA yet and that more detailed information will become <br />available in the future once the project gets closer. <br /> <br />11. <br /> <br />Adjournment <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />There being no further business, Mayor Klinzing adjourned the meering of the Elk River <br />
