Programs and services provided by existing agencies <br /> <br />Sherburne County HRA <br /> <br />Major accomplishments <br />. 1992 approved Housing Plan for Sherburne County. <br />. Joined with the St. Cloud Area Planning Organization for a bonding pool for <br />first time homebuyers. <br />. Establishment and creation of a TIF district for the expansion of Appert's <br />(Appert's did not want to be annexed by the City of St. Cloud.) TIF district was <br />decertified early. <br />. Contemplated potential bond issuance for a combined pool between <br />Guardian Angels and Wilder Foundation for elderly housing. The County <br />Board chose not to participate; perhaps because the majority of the issuance <br />would have benefited persons who were not residents of Sherburne County. <br />. $19 million bond for jail facility. <br />Focus/goals <br />. The HRA does not currently have separate goals from those established by <br />the Sherburne County Board of Commissioners. <br />. The HRA may need to stay in existence until its obligations (bonds) are <br />repaid. <br /> <br />Sherburne County Economic Development Alliance <br /> <br />Major accomplishments <br />. Started the "Money Breakfasts" to support entrepreneurs. <br />. Provided guidance to the 2005 economic development strategy. <br />. Advisory on TIF requests including Appert's. <br />.
