<br />e <br /> <br />Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />June 23, 1994 <br />Page Two <br /> <br />There was a small amount of discussion about the potential for subdividing lots within <br />Sandpiper Estates. Generally speaking most of the current homeowners indicated they <br />preferred to have the homes sitting on a large lot. Many of them indicated that their homes <br />were situated such that they didn't feel their lots could be further subdivided. There was also <br />discussion about each of the current homes having paid for an on site sewer system and a <br />private well which have obviously not served their full lifetime. There were questions about <br />whether or not the Council would consider a pro rata reduction in the assessment to offset <br />the loss of value in the on site sewer system and well at each home. <br /> <br />Privately, after the meeting was closed, several of the property owners indicated that they <br />were aware that sanitary sewer and water would be extended. They indicated that is was not <br />a big surprise and a few said that they would just as soon have it done now rather than wait <br />for a few years and run the risk that the price of assessments and hookup would be <br />substantially more.
