<br />-) <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />-~, <br /> <br />THE CITY OF ELK RIVER, MINNESOTA <br />FIRE CHIEF/FIRE MARSHAL <br /> <br />SALARY <br /> <br />Up to $ <br />experience. <br /> <br />per month, depending upon qualifications and <br /> <br />SCOPE OF JOB <br /> <br />Plans and coordinates the administration of an effective and <br />efficient Fire Department for the fire protection, fire <br />suppression, and fire prevention of the property and residents in <br />the City of Elk River and other areas contracted with the City of <br />Elk River. <br /> <br />PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES <br /> <br />Administration Plans the staffing, organization, and function <br />of the volunteer personnel in order to ensure an efficient and <br />effective program for fire prevention and protection. <br /> <br />Administration Coordinates development of Fire Department <br />budget. Reviews budget proposal with City Administrator for <br />submission to City Council. Implements City Council approved <br />operating budget and capital improvement budget. <br /> <br />Administration - Establishes and maintains Mutual Aid Agreements <br />with neighboring Fire Departments for response to emergencies as <br />needed. <br /> <br />Administration Reviews and evaluates all phases of the <br />Volunteer Fire Department operation and training programs. <br /> <br />Fire Suppression <br />emergencies. <br /> <br />Directs firefighters at scene of fires and <br /> <br />Fire Suppression - Maintains department in a continual state of <br />readiness in order to deal with emergency situations effectively. <br /> <br />Fire Suppression - Attends conferences and schools in order to be <br />informed of improved methods of fire prevention and suppression <br />and to incorporate those new methods into the operation of the <br />Department for its improved efficiency. <br /> <br />Fire Suppression Maintains appropriate records on fire <br />occurances, equipment, personnel, training, and all items <br />relating to the Volunteer Fire Department. <br /> <br />Fire Suppression Investigates complaints of fire regulations <br />and issues corrective orders for violations when appropriate. <br />
